Texas Guitarville Music Schools has three locations: Keller, Grapevine, Flower Mound, Haslet and Trophy Club.  Our Keller location is in old town close to Keller Tavern.  Our Grapevine location is in the brand new state of the art The REC center. Flower Mound location is off of 1171 (cross timbers road) by the Cristina's Mexican Restaurant.  Our Haslet location is off of highway 114 on the way to the city of Rhome, Texas.   Lastly, our Trophy Club is located by Premier Academy behind the Tom Thumb shopping center.  We offer guitar, piano, voice, drums, mandolin, violin, banjo and ukelele lessons.  Rock Band and private lessons are available.  All ages and skill levels are welcome.  We hope to jam with you soon!

Yuan Liu -- Piano

Born in Taiyuan City, China, near Beijing, Yuan Liu began formal piano study at the age of six with Professor Xiaomei Xue from Shanxi University. Ms. Liu later studied with Professor Pingguo Zhao and was accepted into the elementary school affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music where she majored in piano since fifth grade. Ms. Liu is honored to have also studied with Professors Zhaoyi Dan, Binbin Yu, and Dr. Tamas Ungar from Texas Christian University (TCU) School of Music. She excelled under the tutelage of several university music instructors and artists. Piano performance was emphasized from grammar school through college, and Yuan has performed on the international stage as well as at Carnegie Hall in New York City. 

Most notable among her accomplishments is the performance, in February 2015, of all of Frédéric Chopin’s Twenty-four Études. In recent three years, she won the First Prize in the Collegiate Group of the First Kuleshov International Piano Competition, Listener’s Appreciation Award in North American Competition, Finalist Award in the 8th New York International Piano Competition by the Stecher and Horowitz Foundation, FifthPrizein theNewYorkInternationalPianoCompetition and Semi-finalist with Donald Britt Award in the Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota. Yuan loves the piano, people and cats. 

Ms. Liu obtained a full scholarship and graduated from TCU in 2018 with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance under the guidance of the Chair of the TCU Piano Division, Professor John Owings. Ms. Liu will continue her studies toward a Performer’s Diploma in August 2018 at Southern Methodist University School of Music in Dallas, Texas, with Professor Achucarro, with full scholarship and assistantship.


Que YuanYuan -- Piano

Yuanyuan Que, a professional pianist, qualified and experienced music teacher, music composer and poem writer, graduated from University of North Texas and earned degree Maser of Music in Piano Performance, related field in Piano Pedagogy. Her Bachelor’s in Piano Performance was earned from Sichuan Conservatory of Music. She was invited to be a member of Alpha Alpha Chapter of the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society,Alpha Chi National Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, and The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

 

She won many piano competitions and gave many performances and recitals at many places. In 2006, she was admitted to Music Middle School of Sichuan Conservatory of Music as a professional pianist at the age of 11. She received official invitation letter by German piano professor Matitjahu Kellig as visiting student in Hochschule für Musik Detmold in Germany in 2012, admission letter from Bowling Green State University for Master’s with Graduate Assistantship offer (Total received package, per year: 20284$) in 2016, admission letter from University of Northern Colorado for Master’s with Scholarship and Graduate Assistantship offer in 2016, admission letter from Arizona State University for Master’s in 2016, admission letter from UNT College of Music in Piano Performance for Doctorate’s in March 2018, and UNT Academic Achievement Scholarship notification letter in April 2018, and Community Engagement Graduation Cord in April 2018. 

Shewon Ten Top Award in the Thirteenth Session of the Nationwide Push (Literature and Art) Newcomer Competition both in Leshan Division and Sichuan Division in 2006, was awarded “Excellent Student” and “Civilized Student” in Music Middle School of Sichuan Conservatory of Music for academic year 2006-2007,won Excellent Award in 2008 First Session of “Yingchang Cup” Nationwide Youth Piano Competition in Sichuan Division. 

She performed for the Satie-Ricon Music Festival in October 2016, performed a successful solo concert at The Dallas Public Library organized by Mu Phi Epsilon, premiered her own original composition piano work “Imaginary Dance” in the USA and had a great success in March 2017. She performed a successful solo concert at C. C. Young in Dallasand played her own original composition piano work in March 2017, performed a successful solo degree concert at UNT Recital Hall and played her own original composition piano work in April 2017, performed a successful solo concert at Presbyterian Village North in Dallas in February 2018, a successful solo concert at C. C. Young in Dallas in February 2018 and a successful solo degree concert at UNT Voertman Hall in February 2018.  

 

Her teaching is patient, happy and effective. She loves and enjoys teaching. She is very happy to share her knowledge and to keep learning new things. Her basic teaching philosophy is passion, purpose, creativity and growth. Using her passion to teach, share, give and lead students to find the real meaning of their lives; plans what she is going to do for her teaching; fosters and motivates students’ creativity; keeps herself humble to grow and learn in every day. Many excellent students were taught by her. She earned permanent Teacher Qualification Certificate in the field of music in 2016 (got 98/100 high score points in the test of the Pedagogy). She has been teaching many years and has a rich teaching experience and skills to teach all levels and different ages of students. She worked as piano instructor in YueBa Music Training Institute and Xingkong Music Training Institute. She taught lots of kids as well as undergraduate students at piano class of UNT College of Music in 2017.   

 

She composed the Graduation Song for the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, which was recorded in the sponsor of Sichuan Conservatory of Music Piano Department in 2016. She composed many works and played her own work as program in her piano recitals.  

She writes her own poems and is fluent in English, Chinese and German. She won the Championship Award of 2010 World Expo German Writing Competition and was invited to visit Germany from January 9th to January 29th in 2011 for free, sponsored by Goethe Institute, which was founded by German Government. She passed German B1 test and participated in a music program there. Her own original composition work and performance was loved by German musician Mr. Zarko. She passed the most difficult and highest German level test the “Test DaF” in 2012.

 

    


Charlie Winkley -- Voice/Guitar

Charlie Winkley is a vocalist, guitarist, choir director, conductor, composer, and arranger who recently graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a minor in Business Administration. Over the course of his vocal career, he has performed in multiple choirs, an opera chorus, and a small band. After playing guitar for over 10 years, Charlie has performed in a jazz ensemble, a small jazz combo, and a light rock band. With his diverse musical background, he can cater to any student’s needs and share his own passion for music along the way. In Charlie’s philosophy of teaching, his purpose is to guide the student towards his or her goals in a way that fosters confidence and a love for music; the student comes first. 


Sarah Barnett -- Art/Drawing

Sarah Barnett is an emerging fine artist based in the DFW area currently living in Denton, Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in studio art drawing and painting and soon plans on attending graduate school at the New York Academy of Art. She has had a variety of work experience with commissioned illustration, murals, portraiture and has given private art lessons as well as worked at an art Studio for kids. Sarah works primarily in oils, watercolor, and colored pencil but has knowledge in using most wet and dry mediums. She has been exhibiting work in DFW and local galleries/coffee shops for the past three years and has been selling both originals and prints of her work. 


Katie Collins -- Voice -- Keller Location

Katie was born and raised in Colorado. She has recently moved to Texas and is loving every minute of it. She will begin college in the fall, working toward a degree in Musical Theatre. Katie has a passion for acting and singing.  She has extensive experience in musical theatre including the leading female role, Nancy, in the show Oliver. Her favorite musical is the Phantom of the Opera with her favorite part being Christine Daae. She is so excited to share her passion teaching her students voice and vocal techniques. She loves to teach and encourage students to follow their dreams, and does it with fun in mind!

Zachary Bell -- Guitar/Bass Guitar/Ukulele -- Keller Location

Zach Bell has been dabbling in music since age twelve, and teaches guitar, bass, and ukulele. He has been in numerous musicals during his high school career and is a former student of Texas Guitarville. Zach is able to accommodate students of any age and ability, and can teach playing styles varying from heavy metal to indie music.


Matt O'Donnell -- Drums/Guitar/Bass Guitar -- Keller Location & Grapevine Location

Matt O’Donnell has been playing guitar for twelve years, bass guitar for eight, and drum set for nine. He has been writing and composing his own music since he first picked up a guitar. He has been collaborating and writing with other musicians since he was in the 8th grade and has been in several alternative rock bands since. 

Matt O’Donnell is a classically trained percussionist and played in the KISD band program from 6th grade to his senior year in high school. There, Matt played four mallet vibraphone on the varsity drumline, as well as drum set and bass guitar in the school’s multiple jazz bands and Jazz combo’s. 

Matt O’Donnell is studying film and behavior analysis at the University of North Texas and currently plays guitar and sings in an art rock band that performs frequently in the Dallas, Fort Worth and Denton Area.

Although Matt’s major style preferences range from psychedelic, surf, new wave, noise, punk and shoegaze, Matt has an extensive history in playing styles such as jazz, funk, country, pop, samba, bossa nova, and many more. 


Eric Mathews -- Guitar/Bass/Drums -- Keller & Flower Mound Location

Eric has been playing live music since he was 15. He has been playing guitar and bass for 10 years and drums for 11 years.He went on his first month long US tour when he was 17 with his band composed of his own original music. Eric is well versed in music theory and jazz performance. He plays with many groups of different genres on different instruments.


Aaron Muller -- Piano/Violin/Viola/Cello/Upright Bass -- Keller Location & Trophy Club Location

Aaron has been playing violin for over a decade.  He has experience playing in multiple orchestras, including the UNT concert and symphony orchestras.  He studied piano while at UNT for two years.  He is able to accommodate students from beginner to advanced levels.


Austin Longbine -- Guitar/Bass Guitar/Ukulele/Drums/Songwriting -- Keller Location & Grapevine Location

Austin Longbine has been playing guitar for ten years and drums for three, he started songwriting in early highschool and has written and produced two albums since then. While attending The University of North Texas, Austin started a band as a guitarist/vocalist and joined another as a drummer. He has been in multiple bands and has a lot of live performance experience. Austin specializes in lead guitar with styles including Blues, Math-Rock, and Indie. Austin took guitar lessons for over seven years, so he knows what its like to be on the other end of the spectrum and can relate to the challenges of learning an instrument. He is looking forward to working with students to help make music their own and to inspire them to persue musical arts.    

 


P.M. Howard -- Guitar/Bass/Keyboard/Vocals/Ukulele -- Trophy Club, Keller, & Flower Mound Location

P.M. has been a singer since early childhood.  Fortunate to have had excellent teachers and coaches along the way, his voice has led him to a career with many opportunities to pursue his talents. From Broadway to Hudson’s Bay, from Halifax to Hollywood, “P.M.” has just about done it all. Vocalist; Musician; Bandleader; Actor; Writer; Director; Composer; Lyricist – in virtually every genre of“the business” - Rock; Pop; Folk; Country; Jazz Standards; Big Band; Theatre; Musical Theatre; Opera; Film; Radio; TV; Recording Studio; Voice Over. Now, on the “other side” of his career, P.M. is very gratified to have the opportunity to “pay it forward” - to pass on some of the knowledge and insight he has garnered from the many fine artists and craftsmen he has worked with over the years.

 


Kelsey Flanagan -- Voice/Guitar/Bass Guitar/Ukulele -- Trophy Club & Flower Mound Location

Kelsey is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Texas. With her fiery passion for music and her unique, acoustic sound, she can teach voice and vocal technique as well as guitar and ukulele to kids and young adults. Kelsey has written countless songs and has experience in the music scene through performances at various DFW locations, including a solo show at the Dallas House of Blues. She has been singing and playing for most of her life and is looking forward to the opportunity to inspire and enrich her students' lives through music.


 

Kevin Nassiff - Guitar/Piano/Vocal/Sax/Ukulele/Mandolin/Banjo -- CEO/Owner

Kevin has been teaching since 2007 and loves teaching the art of music.  He has been in several bands playing Saxophone, guitar, piano, vocals, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, drums, and much more.  He has also spent some time in the recording studio and can teach students about proper recording techniques.  Students will learn how to play their instrument proficiently, efficiently, and have fun along the way.  Kevin started Texas Guitarville back in 2013 and is having fun seeing the business grow.  "We just want to provide top notch music lessons and related services but have fun too!", Kevin says.  "This is the best job ever!  I want to connect you with the right teacher for your learning wants and needs.  Finding the right teacher, instrument, and program specifications can make all the difference."  Kevin wants to create a customized course of lessons for his students and all the students that come to Texas Guitarville.  He can't wait to meet you and get you started on your musical journey today!!!

 


Marie Nassiff -- Music Teacher at Texas Guitarville

     Marie Nassiff is currently the music specialist at Prairie View Elementary in Northwest ISD where she teaches K-5 general music and directs the PVE Hawk Choir.  She is in her 28th year of teaching and will be completing her 23rd year as a music specialist in NISD where she is the Elementary Lead Music Specialist.  She helps to support the elementary music teachers in NISD in many ways and is a successful grant writer, helping to acquire many innovative programs which incorporate new technology ideas for the music classroom.  Mrs. Nassiff led the district in the development of the current elementary music curriculum, has taught at both the elementary and middle school level, and has co-directed the Northwest ISD Fifth Grade All-District Honor Choir since its inception in 2008.  She was honored to be named Teacher of the Year at Prairie View Elementary during the 2004-2005 school year.  Prior to teaching in NISD Mrs. Nassiff was a music specialist in Houston ISD and Lamar Consolidated ISD.  She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Houston, has her Level I Orff certification, and is an active member of TMEA.  She has 3 children, Justin, Tiffany, and Kevin and resides in Fort Worth, with Gary, her husband of 34 years.
